Help Support Cancer Research
Once again, Mara and Rich, together with Eleanor Saperstein, Mara’s mother, will be participating in a weekend of challenges to support the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center. Mara and Eleanor will run and/or walk several loops of the 10k on July 11th in Hanover, NH. Rich will ride in the 2nd Annual Prouty Ultimate Double Century Ride, which will be held on July 10-11, 2009. On Day One, bikers depart from Manchester, NH and after 100 miles will end in Hanover, NH. On Day Two, bikers complete another 100 miles by finishing a loop around the Upper Connecticut River Valley. In addition, on July 12th, Rich will participate in the Black Fly Sprint Triathlon in Waterville Valley, NH, rounding-out a weekend devoted to raising money for cancer research and for services for cancer patients. While completing over 230 miles of walking, running, riding and swimming may seem like a significant effort, it is nothing compared to the challenges faced by those suffering from cancer and those engaged in pursuing a cure for cancer.
Through your sponsorship of our participation in The Prouty, Prouty Double Century Ride and Black Fly Triathlon, you support the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center, which funds researchers and clinicians who are working on innovative ways to prevent, diagnose, treat and hopefully, one day, cure cancer. You also support important patient services that would otherwise not be funded.
All money raised helps to support cancer research and patient services at Norris Cotton Cancer Center, one of only 40 comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute for excellence in cancer research, care and community outreach. Research conducted at Norris Cotton informs patient treatment around the world.
